Scrappet Kaiser Princess v1.1 release

Hello!

I've been slowly updating and adjusting the game, and have released the more complete v.1.1!

As of this post, the Digital version has not yet been updated to v1.1 (as I had just left a comment in the forum just now). However, the .pcio and print-and-play versions are up-to-date. Here are the highlights:

- 5 new Event cards!
Additionally, 1 Event card (Surprise Pizza Party) has been removed from the game. The reasoning behind dropping that Event was that was no way it would ever not trigger (multiple kids at the Lemonade Stand), and it was generally not a fun card because it basically means you do nothing. It's replacement, Where's Our Cut?, will trigger IF you have a ton of money (15 Bucks) AND how bad it is depends on how many friends you have (Lose 3 per friend). While you could technically lose more money from this new card (12 vs 9), it triggers much less often due to the 15 buck requirement, and can also be mitigated beforehand by dropping your friends. The similar Event card with the Store (Unexpected Holiday) remains in the game, but only because it doesn't trigger as often as Surprise Pizza Party.
So all this brings me to the design goal of these new Event cards: I felt like it was a little too easy to win the game (get 140 pts) by keeping all your friends, Surprise Pizza Party aside. I also felt like I could make Mindy feel a little more mean. So, the new Event cards are meant to either make it harder to lose friends or punish the player for keeping friends. Where's Our Cut? and Card Casualty will punish you for having friends, while Card Casualty and Tournament Jitters will raise your Ego (which would likely lose you a friend). The Boss Is Gone Event also hints at to how Mindy/the player is making the other kids feel when Mindy keeps going to the alley. Tbh this card also has a similar vibe to Surprise Pizza Party as it moves all friends to the Playground. The Heemer Twins card is just something I added to make players interact with the Playground a bit more.

- 1 new Starter card!
XE-Ninjin Sugar BB 1973 is my take on the sexy carrot meme that I forgot about when I was making the art. I originally wanted to make it look more like a carrot car but I am very bad at drawing cars, so I draw a carrot car robot thing instead. The name is essentially Sexy Carrot (XE = Sexy, Ninjin = Japanese word for carrot) with Sugar Baby added. And she really is a sugar baby. She's an 8, which is ridiculously strong for a Starter, but will also cost you 3 Bucks each round, and if you can't pay up, she leaves the game and you can't ever get her back.

- Updated and clarified rules!
I went through the entire rulebook and all the card effects multiple times to make sure the wording on everything is clear, concise, and consistent. If you've printed the game already, don't worry! You won't have to print the entire game out again. I've created an update file. Also, the two pages in that update file has a page of updated and new cards that affect gameplay (a few other Starter cards had some adjustments on their effects and Strength), and another page of cards that have more clear wording that don't really affect gameplay.
The biggest change in the main rules is how bought and stolen Store cards replace old cards in the Binder. I imagine most of you have only seen this game on the Kyle stream in which he bought a bunch of cards and replaced multiple cycles in his Binder. Well with the new rules, if he had split all the money between multiple kids, he would have had more flexibility in what cards he could replace (maybe). This rule is to encourage players to bring multiple kids to the store more often, which makes it a little more likely for certain Event cards to trigger.
Speaking of which, now that the Event card pool is bigger, it reduces the chance of certain Event cards from popping up (from a roughly 50% chance to a more slight 35% chance), which I think makes it a little bit easier to hit 140pts. However, I think it makes the game a little more fun as the new cards are pretty neat imo

Well, that's it for now! As far as I know, this game is complete. I considered making a bigger expansion that included new friends or a new end game tournament battle, but as I wrote out more design ideas, I felt the simple design was getting too clogged up. I'll probably put that stuff in a sequel someday when I can bake that stuff into the design from the start.

But yeah, if I ever do another update for this game, I would probably just spruce up the rulebook and add picture examples. Oh yeah! I also plan on posting up a full playthrough of the printed version, so look forward to that.

Well, see you next time!
